Nobody knows more about the marriage of France and Dixie than the owners of South’n France, Pascal Siegler and Charlene Dupray. This husband-and-wife team—he from France and she from Wilmington, North Carolina—have had years of practice blending these different cultures into a harmonious whole. Pascal has maitre’d experience with famed New York restaurant, Daniel. Charlene has a background in hospitality and business, working first as a Tour Director for world-class cruise lines, later for an international company on Madison Avenue. In 2006, they decided to trade in their New York City lifestyle for a pink house in the South and a business that would celebrate their very different upbringings. They created South ‘n France and hand-dipped their first 16,000 bon bons in just one month, debuting at the Carolina Chocolate Festival. Seven months later, they won Best New Chocolate Product at the 114th Philadelphia National Candy, Gift and Gourmet Show. Since then, they’ve been rolling the business and the bon bons right along….
